Why did Gulliver call himself an encumbrance on both the kingdoms?
During his stay at Lilliput, an enormous quantity of food used to be prepared to feed Gulliver which was a matter of worry for some jealous courtiers. Besides, he had become a bone of conflict between the two kingdoms after the Blefoscudian king refused the request of the Lilliputian emperor to send Gulliver back to Lilliput with his hands and feet bound. These reasons forced the author call himself an encumbrance on both the kingdoms.
