      In the comedy She Stoops To Conquer Kate Hardcastle and Constance Neville our studies in contrast. In the comedy both the characters are beautifully sketched. As compare with the character of Kate, Neville appears a pale colourless creation. Kate dominates the action from the very beginning to end, leading the man of her heart has she wills. Constance Neville on the other hand plays an insignificant and passive role except towards the close of the play. As opposite to Kate, Neville is led by the man of her heart to speak the truth, Miss Neville fades into insignificance by the side of Kate Hardcastle. In the comedy Kate and Miss Hardcastle or cousins, they live under the some roof but, though they live inside the same house they differ from each other so much.

      Miss Neville is a money minded women. Her love of money colours her love. She is hesitates to agree to Hastings proposal for elopement, lest she should lose her fortune, considering Fortune to of great importance in one's life. Kate on the other hand is a woman of intellect. Unlike Neville, she is not subject to emotional fluxes, she does not respond to Marlow's call for a kiss as her cousin does to Hastings's call for elopement. Kate Hardcastle is not a hesitating girl as Neville is. She does not change her decision under circumstances.

Difference between Kate and Constance Neville:-

Neville was a money minded girl who counts much on money for happiness. But Kate Hardcastle what is opposite of that.

Neville was effected by emotional flow and responded to Hastings plan of elopement. But Kate was very strong and didn't responded to Marlow's call for kids.

Neville was not a brave girl to express her love for Hastings in front of everyone. But Kate it was very brave and declared her love for Marlow in front of her father.

Neville was not a resourceful girl like miss Kate. As she was not only affluent with material wealth but also experience of every sphere of life.

Neville was not a girl of great intellect like Kate. As Kate intellectually handle every situation comes toward her was missing in Neville's character.

Neville has not spent any time in the town like Kate. City lifestyle and manner was very familiar to Kate as of miss Neville.

Kate was not a hesitating girl like Neville. She does not change her decision in any circumstances.
